Design, engineer and animate brick machines right in your browser

Real snapping. Gear ratios that never lie. A stability check that finds the weak spot before you build it for real.

Everything a brick engineer needs

One studio for building, testing, documenting and showing off your machines.

Build with real snapping

Studs, holes and axles connect the way the real parts do. Collisions use real geometry, not boxes.

Mechanisms that never lie

Gear ratios, motor speeds and torque directions come from the parts themselves. Press play and watch it run.

Stability Check

Get a score and a list of loose pieces, weak joints and gears that do not mesh, before you pick up a single brick.

Instructions & PDF booklets

Step-by-step building instructions with parts lists, exported as a clean printable PDF.

Photo & video studio

Render studio-quality pictures and animate camera moves around your running machine.

Local-first & private

No account and no trackers. Your models never leave your device unless you send them.

How it works

From empty baseplate to running machine in four steps.

  1. Add a kit

Pick a parts kit. Everything in it just works: snapping, motion and checks.

  2. Build

Drag parts together. They snap, rotate and lock like the real thing.

  3. Run it

Switch on the motor. See gear speeds, directions and any problems.

  4. Share

Export instructions, images, video or a file others can open.

Questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?

The studio runs in your browser with no account. Pricing for any future extras will be announced before launch; nothing is charged through this site today.

Is this an official LEGO® product?

No. AXLECAD is unofficial fan software. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this app.

Where is my data stored?

Your builds stay on your device (local-first). We only receive what you choose to send, such as a bug report. The privacy page lists exactly what we keep and for how long.

Which parts and kits are included?

The studio ships with kits you add yourself, starting with classic bricks and Technic gears, motors and axles. Part data is open, so more kits can be added over time.

Are the gear ratios and speeds real?

Yes. Gear pitch, tooth counts and motor speed come from data, and the mechanism simulator uses them. An 8-tooth gear driving a 24-tooth gear really gives 3:1.

What does the Stability Check do?

It analyses the connection graph of your model: loose pieces, weak joints, collisions and gears that do not mesh, and gives a score with the exact pieces to fix.

Can I use it on my phone?

The studio is designed for desktop and tablet browsers. This site works on every screen size.

Can kids join the waitlist?

Under-13s should ask a parent to use the studio with them. We never store an email address from anyone under 13. See the kids' privacy page.
